BLAISE ZEREGA, From the inception of FORA.tv, I have been a faithful promoter of the concept of FORA as a medium for sharing the knowledge congregated on the FORA site.
It is very sad that you have chosen this path of FORA+.
If you care to share the business plan to justify this move, I would be interested in seeing it.
Best regards.
John Young
Hello John,
Thanks for your comment, but I'm not certain I understand your discontent. We remain committed to the principle of gathering and sharing the brilliant ideas being expressed everyday, everywhere. If you choose not to join FORA.tv Plus, then you can STILL enjoy the Web's largest collection of videos on the people, issues, and ideas changing the world. Please take another look! Thanks again for your note.

Blaise,
Please confirm the cost of the video feeds from non-profits, which you are now expecting to be paid for.
John...
I agree with John Young.
When I first got the email telling me about FORA+, I thought it was an additional premium service. Now I find it has replaced FORA as I knew it, as nothing seems to be downloadable without paying for it.
While true that I could watch the videos streaming, I don't because it uses too much of my CPU and overheats my laptop. I don't know why, but apparently all Flash is not created equal. Flash video from some sites uses 10-20% of CPU while others, such as FORA, use 30-60% or more. I downloaded FORA videos to watch later so that I actually could watch them without shutting down my computer.
I haven't decided yet if I can pay for FORA. Right now I'm a bit angry and thinking of FORA+ as another step to the 2-tiered internet - everything available for the haves while others like me are forced to give up access to sites that now require subscription. So FORA is now a medium for sharing knowledge with those who can afford it.
